Voluntary Project

The aim of Pure Innovations Ltd Voluntary Project is to create new opportunities to existing service-users. The project provides another community based activity that is socially valued by the local community. Placements made are ‘true' voluntary placements, we only place in an organisation/company that recruits other volunteers (e.g. charities, not-for profit organisations), but is a progression route from building based services and projects closer to seeking paid employment. Individuals learn and develop new skills whilst maintaining existing ones.

A Day Service Officer leads the voluntary project and supports service-users via the following route:

  • Finds out about what type of voluntary work a service-user would like to do, spending time with them and finding out their interests, skills etc.
  • Secures voluntary placement
  • Carries out a health and safety check at the voluntary placement
  • Completes a job analysis
  • Undertakes an Individual Risk Assessment
  • Completes a training plan and collates data collection

Support staff are available to support the individual to travel to and from the voluntary placement and can carry out independent travel training, where applicable. The individual will be supported in the placement for as long as is necessary. As we are always encouraging independence and progression we will withdraw 1:1 support slowly and appropriately, ensuring that all parties are happy with the arrangement. There will always be a member of staff available as a point of contact if needed.
