Pure is working with Stockport Council funding a Channel Manager, Natasha Howells for the Learning Disability channel on the Care Knowledge website.

CareKnowledge is a subscription social care website. It is regularly accessed by over 10,000 social care professionals to gather, find and share information, communicate and collaborate.

Stockport MBC is the only council in the UK who have their own dedicated local pages. The website is split into different 'channels' (amongst them mental health, older people and learning disability).

The site engages with users in ways that most other sites can't, namely the majority of the information are in the forms of short video blogs so that people are able to navigate the site and see for themselves what real people in Stockport are doing and how they feel about the issues that matter to them.

Recent stories that have featured are Stockport CP's Leisure Link group enjoying activities such as snowboarding and indoor wall climbing, as well as a recent supported tenancies' disco and karaoke night, 'Stockport's Got Talent'. We've also had a service user interviewing Sally Schofield, an Occupational Therapist, and audio interviews with Simon Duffy, Director of the Centre for Welfare Reform talking about the centre and his role in transforming social care throughout the country.

Access to the website is by registration only and there is a free trail available. Once you've registered, you'll receive a welcome email with a username and password and you'll then receive weekly updates every Thursday with what stories are posted that week. If there's a story that interests you, just click on the link to take you to the story on the website
