Conference, Events Centre and Tea Room at Vernon Park Museum
Pure Innovations took over the running of the Vernon Park Museum, Conference Centre and Art Gallery from Stockport Council Heritage Services in July 2005. The Museum has undergone a major renovation and refurbishment project, and comprises of a Conference Centre, Art Space, Café Pure and exhibits from Stockport Heritage. The facility is managed for Stockport Council by Pure Innovations.
The Museum and Conference Centre is operated over three floors, and ideally situated close to Stockport town centre. It offers an ideal location for business meetings, conferences, events or community activities. The conference centre offers state-of-the-art facilities for up to 80 people. There is also an exhibition and art space that is used by many groups from local artists to accommodating business exhibitions.
We can tailor-make your requirements in a friendly atmosphere with the beautiful surroundings of a Green Flag awarding park. We provide buffet and refreshments services that suit all dietary requirements.
The Museum and Conference staff are supported by a team of service users who have volunteered to work at the centre learning hospitality skills including meeting and greeting, collecting geographical information from visitors, running the café, servicing the conference facilities, stock replenishment, general cleaning, security and regular warden duties.
The museum also has a Tea Room that is located on the ground floor and offers a range of hot and cold food. There is seating available in the conservatory and external seating on the patio. The cafe is known locally where you can get a 'brew with a view'.
There are regular weekly events and a range of weekend and school holiday activities at the museum including arts and crafts, Tai Chi and parent and tots groups. There are also regular band stand events with national brass bands, school bands and steel bands participating throughout the spring to autumn. We work closely with friends of Vernon Park and other groups including the RSPB. For a schedule of events please download our events programme.
