PURE 107.8FM

Pure 107.8FM forms a part of the Pure Innovations business portfolio. The station was awarded a full-time licence in 2005 and was launched on the 13th September 2006.
Pure 107.8FM was one of only seven stations in the North West to be awarded a full-time community radio licence from OfCom, the industry's regulator. These licences can only be won by not-for-profit companies who use radio as a means towards social gain objectives. Pure 107.8 FM is the only radio station that broadcasts exclusively in Stockport.
Social Gain
What we mean by 'social gain' is we have our own marketing team, the Pure Crew made up of adults with learning, physical and/or sensory disabilities. They fulfil an important role in raising awareness of the radio station by handing out leaflets, taking dedications, and getting involved in roadshows or fundraising events. The Pure crew travel around in branded vehicles.
We also have a large number of volunteers involved with the station. Many are actively involved in creating radio programmes, but others are involved in providing technical support, research, writing or administritive duties.
Media Partnerships
In July 2007, Pure 107.8FM was announced as an official Media Partner of Stockport County, and through two dedicated Sports Shows per week we are able to bring full match commentary for home and away matches, match build up and round up.
Pure 107.8 FM focuses on all the borough's sports, from our olympic medal-winning swimmers to amateur football. We encourage listeners to get involved in sport and promote the work of local clubs. Our excellent relationship with Sale Sharks means we are the only radio station in the North West to broadcast a weekly programme dedicated to local rugby union.
