Stockport's Radio Station

pure-1078fm-logoPure 107.8FM forms a part of the Pure Innovations business portfolio. The station was awarded with a full-time licence in 2005 and was launched on the 13th September 2006.

Pure 107.8FM was one of only 7 stations in the North West to be awarded a full-time community radio licence from OfCom, the industry's regulator. These licences can only be won by not-for-profit companies who use radio as a means towards social gain objectives.

Social Gain  pure-crew-handing-out-leaflet

What we mean by 'social gain' is we have our own marketing team, the Pure Crew made up of adults with learning, physical and/or sensory disabilities.  Rather than sitting around in a building receiving a day service everyday, the Crew fulfill an important role in raising awareness about the radio station.

They love the role they play in marketing the station; they raise awareness by handing out leaflets, taking dedications, and getting involved in roadshows or fundraising events. They travel around in new branded vehicles and not traditional 'disability buses' normally used to shuttle around people with disabilities.

New Developments

In July 2007, Pure 107.8FM was announced as an official Media Partner of Stockport County, and through two dedicated Sports Shows per week we are able to bring full match commentary for home and away matches, match build up and round up.
