Things I Enjoy At Pure – By Damien

Posted on the 7th August 2018

Damien has written this piece about the time he spends at Pure. It gives great insight into the different activities in our animation suite.

I have been going to Pure Innovations community projects since 20th November 2017. I go to Pure Animation at The Grey Horse Studio, three days a week.

I like Animation because it is fun. I  enjoy being at The Grey Horse,  I like making things out of cardboard, editing on the computer, making friends and chatting to other people.

Here's a glorious ghoulish video by Damien.

When I’m taking part I feel happy. I like being able to speak to other people and talking.

Since starting with Pure, I have learnt to use my own ideas and I am feeling more confident about it.

I like coming to Pure Innovations because it makes me happy and I enjoy it. The Grey Horse is easy to get to, it is in a good place from home and is only 10 to 15 minutes walk from Stockport. I like getting along with the staff too.

I felt nervous coming here at first but now I enjoy it, making storyboards, using my own ideas and imagination, making models out of Plasticine.   It helps me to get out of the house too, rather than staying at home doing nothing.

I am looking forward to joining the Stepping Hill Stockport Supported Internship in September this year  and eventually I would like to get a job or do some volunteering. I would like to help people in Pure.

Thank you Damien for sharing your experience here. We wish you every success on your Internship.
