We’re Not Lion, Meet Leo!

Posted on the 13th September 2018

Talented clients at Sanderling have created this fabulous full-sized lion. Crafted from cardboard and papier mâché,  he looks both regal and lovable! With his swishing mane and majestic stance, all he needed to be complete was a name.

The clients shortlisted some of their favourites and we conducted a Twitter poll to find the most popular. The names on the clients’ shortlist were:

  • Clarence
  • Harold
  • Leo
  • Albert

The four names competed for 24 hours before the final result came in…

The winner was Leo!

The next step was to ensure that everyone knew his new name. Client Helen did the honours of decorating a lovely name badge for Leo to spread the word!

This isn’t the first time the group, under the guidance of Arty Alison, has made a super-sized animal sculpture. They also crafted the lovely lemon rhino above which they  delivered to Pure’s new office building, ‘Rhino Court’. Then there was Geoff the giraffe. He was a tall order!

So what’s next? This craft group is in the habit of thinking BIG. Keep your eyes peeled for … a dinosaur! Be sure to watch this space.
