Out and About with Pure

Exploring places of interest is always informative, good exercise and great fun too! Everyone loves a change of scene which is why our community explorers have such a great time on their excursions out and about in Greater Manchester.

There are so many beautiful places, historic buildings and other cultural hotspots just a short bus or train hop away – and of course it’s fun to go in a group with the guidance and support of Pure staff always to hand.

Above you can see the group from The Jonathan Burns Centre, our base in Middleton, on their run out to Heaton Park.  The  #beeinthecity art event has been a great success  this summer and it is fabulous that one of the artworks was displayed in the park. You could say that everyone got a real buzz from seeing it!

There have been lots of other trips too. Take a look at these sample pics.

A recent excursion to the Greater Manchester Police Museum in the city centre was a particular hit. Everyone enjoyed seeing the life-size model horse – and the more noisy, modern modes of transport.

The ornate oriental arch that is a central feature of the city’s Chinatown was another memorable sight.

There have also been introductions to local townships such as Swinton, Bury and Bolton. The familiarisation tour of the Trafford Centre   was a great opportunity for little shopping too!

Visiting local places in a supported group is a great way to build confidence and to make friends. Let us know if you or anyone you know would like to join us.
