Two Paid Jobs For The Trafford Supported Interns!

Posted on the 22nd November 2018

Two interns from the Trafford Supported Internship have earned themselves paid jobs!

Billy had an interview for a cleaning job just a few days a go at Sodexo. It went brilliantly! Billy felt very confident going into the interview. He put this down to his placement as a porter at Trafford General Hospital. He said that as part of his placement he has to communicate with a lot of staff around the hospital. This was essential in building his confidence which proved so useful for his interview.

Intern Kai has also landed a paid job as a cleaner at Sodexo. His work on his internship  placement includes roles such as clearing tables in the restaurant at the Hospital. Here is what he had to say:

I was surprised when I got the job so early on, because I was expecting to be the last but instead I was the first. I like being a cleaner as there are no distractions and I can just get the job done. It's the perfect first job where I can earn some money and get my foot in the door.

Both Billy and Kai will be working part-time and continuing with their internship placements.

All the other interns on the programme are also making great progress. For example, Ed’s great attention to detail as an Audiology assistant is proving useful asset in their department. Harry is on a placement in Admin on one of the wards.  Sometimes he helps out in the Activities room. He helped make the amazing memory wall, pictured in the gallery below.  It is a collage of pictures from the past to prompt happy memories for patients.

The Trafford Internship is certainly off to a flying start with two interns in jobs and the rest of the group doing brilliantly. Great job everyone!
