Nick’s Soup of the Day at The Kitchen

Posted on the 8th January 2019

Nick is learning new culinary skills at our stylish bakery, cafe and shop, The Kitchen in Stockport. Today he has been busy cooking up a  batch of fresh, creamy broccoli soup. See him in action here.

Delicious!  And our soup of the day offer including bread roll and butter costs just £2.80. All the soups are vegetarian so everyone can enjoy them.
Come in and try one.

Nick is just one of many Pure clients gaining practical experience in baking, cooking, retail and cafe skills at The Kitchen. This is what sets us a part. Customers also love to see their food being prepared through the glass wall dividing  the cafe from the bakery. And it’s certainly not all soup either. Take a look at these so-o tempting cakes and rolls.

Pure clients assisted in making all these treats.

I enjoy everything about working at The Kitchen really. I'm learning to bake lots of new foods that I have never made before like bread. I also like the uniform and that I know everyone here.

Nick - Today's soup chef.

In just the few months we have been open, clients have produced a wide range of baked goods including:

  • Cakes, including chocolate and lemon drizzle
  • Biscuits
  • A selection of breads
  • Mince pies
  • Quiche
  • Flapjacks
  • Tea cakes

New dishes and desserts are regularly added, so there is always something new to learn.  If you know anyone who could benefit from Pure’s supported cafe and bakery training, do contact us.

And of course  when you are in Stockport, do pop in to The Kitchen Chestergate (behind Primark). We’d love to see you.
