Skateboarders’ Art: Vernon Exhibition Extended

Posted on the 25th January 2019

Exciting work by talented artists from Stockport’s skateboarding community is now on public display at our art gallery at Vernon House, Vernon Park until Sunday, 17th February.

From vibrant graffiti art to brooding landscapes in pastels, the Stockport Collective exhibition includes a wide range of styles and media. Many are from skaters and other artists are also featured. Further highlights include tattoo-inspired works, prints and decorated boards.

The exhibition is curated by John Fowler, local artist and skater. It is dedicated to the memory of Bazra, a Stockport artist who recently passed away.

Many of the works are for sale. A percentage of the proceeds will be shared between a men’s mental health charity and Pure Innovations, to support our clients’ art activities.

We regard Vernon Gallery as a community facility and are delighted to open it up to other artists. Admission is of course free.

There have long been links between skateboarding and art, so do come along and see these dynamic works for yourself.

The gallery is located downstairs at Vernon Park Cafe (formerly Stockport Museum.
