Dunwood Park Cafe: Makeover Magic

Posted on the 28th February 2019

It has been another busy week for staff and clients ahead of the opening of our new venture, Dunwood Park Cafe on Monday, March 11th.

On Wednesday woodwork clients from The Boathouse came along with Pure’s woodwork guru Paul to install a new breakfast bar style counter to add to the seating capacity. They’d made it and the main counter themselves too!

Meanwhile hardworking cafe staff were busy moving tables, sorting storage areas and getting everywhere tidy ahead of the grand opening.

There were plenty of kitchen equipment manuals to study too. That’s not to say there wasn’t time to enjoy a well-earned cuppa out on the cafe’s sunny terrace.

Lynne and cafe staff read appliance manuals on the sunny terrace at Dunwood Park Cafe

Testing the sun trap cafe terrace: someone has to do it!

What a lovely spot overlooking the picturesque Dunwood Park. If you have to read dishwasher instructions, this is a great place to do it! (What a difference a day makes though! Where has that sun gone? Luckily there is plenty of seating inside the cafe for less clement days.)

Dunwood Park is in Beal Valley, one mile north of Shaw town centre, midway between Oldham and Rochdale. It really is beautiful with lovely flowerbeds, tennis courts, a bowling green, basketball court, play park and more.

As with Etherow Park Cafe  and The Kitchen in Stockport and The Boathouse in Alexandra Park, Oldham, we will be providing a great cafe for the local community plus cafe training and work experience for clients with learning  difficulties.

We can’t wait!

We’ll be telling you more about the new cafe here but why not keep up to date with all Dunwood Park Cafe news by following its Facebook page?
