Autism-Friendly Quiet Night at the Museum: Join Us!

Posted on the 2nd April 2019

In celebration of World Autism Awareness Week, Pure will be at Manchester Museum for its After Hours Quiet Night this Thursday. (April 4th).We’ll be providing information and answering any questions about our services and we’ll be offering a fun creative activity too!

This event is a partnership between the museum and the Greater Manchester Autism Consortium and is a great opportunity for adults with autism to explore the galleries at a quieter time. There is so much to see and the low key atmosphere between  6-9pm is completely different from the noise and bustle of the daytime.

Our Arts Facilitator Abbi Betton from  Pure Art Studio will be there with a mobile version of one of our animation studios! She will be hosting an informal animation workshop so visitors will be able have a go themselves at this brilliant activity.

Stop motion animation is a door to creativity for many artists. At Pure Art Studios we provide all the equipment and the support to enable people to quickly launch into making their own short videos.
Devising storylines, creating models and designing sets are all part of the creative process too. We are delighted with this fun opportunity for people to try it themselves at the museum's Quiet Night. Do come and see us!

Hannah Marchbank and Emily Smith from Pure will also be at the event to share information about all our services. These include our Travel Training which enables people with autism and those with learning difficulties to use public transport safely and independently.  We also have a range of supported education, work experience and Supported Employment opportunities plus a range of Supported Internship programmes in Manchester, Salford, Trafford, Stockport and Bury.

Do come along and find out about all of these. Emily and Hannah would love to chat to you and answer any questions you may have. Don’t forget of course that we  also have many fun and fulfilling recreational activities  in Stockport, Oldham and Middleton that you can find out about by clicking the links.

We look forward to seeing you at Manchester’s beautiful museum on Oxford Road. Find directions here.
