Bury Supported Internship Begins Brilliantly

Posted on the 2nd August 2019

Our brand new Bury Supported Internship at Fairfield General Hospital has had a brilliant first year. Six interns have achieved paid employment!

The interns’ achievements were celebrated at a special graduation ceremony held at the hospital.

Our partners in Bury are Elms Bank School and the Bury Care Organisation NHS.  A lot of people have been contributed to the internship’s success and it was lovely to see so many of them at the celebration.

Former interns are now working in a wide variety of paid roles across Fairfield General Hospital:

  • Aaron – Gardening Assistant
  • Nathaniel – Assistant in the Medical Equipment Library
  • Tayyba – Clerical Assistant
  • Kyle – Assistant to the Technical Manager in the Pharmacy team
  • Luke – Kitchen Assistant
  • Lewis – Clerical Assistant

This great range of jobs reflects how  internships can source opportunities to suit each individual’s abilities and aspirations. The interns worked hard, impressed their managers and earned their success. Well done everyone!

The Supported Internship has helped me to be more confident. I would happily recommend the Supported Internship to other people, because it has helped me not only in work related issues, but in social and emotional aspects of my life as well.
