Support Pure Insight With A Couple Of Clicks!

Posted on the 5th September 2019

We are delighted to announce that our sister charity Pure Insight is a finalist in this year’s Vernon Building Society Community Awards. Now it needs your votes!

This is a great way that YOU can help young people who have left or are leaving Care Services with just a few clicks of your mouse.

Pure Insight equips care leavers with the coping skills,  knowledge and experiences to take control of their own lives. It provides a mentoring service, peer-to-peer support groups, “Angels” support for new parents and much more – but it needs funding for this work.

Over the last seven years The Vernon has generously donated a total of £70,000 to great causes in Stockport. This year’s £10,000 pot will be divided between the 14 finalists in amounts based on their ranking in the public vote. Insight needs you!

Young people leaving care are often very vulnerable as they can suddenly find themselves with no support network at the age of 18.
We work to address issues such as homelessness, loneliness, isolation, poor mental or physical health and a lack of opportunities.
This funding will enable us to buy necessary equipment for activities such as learning how to cook; home start-up kits, self-care kits and expenses for training volunteers.
Much of our work is in the more socially deprived areas of Stockport and we would love the public to get behind us in supporting young people without a family network.

A very warm thank you to you all for supporting young care leavers at such a vital time in their lives. Insight is also very keen to hear from you  if you are interested in a more  involved role:

Mentors Wanted

Pure Insight is currently recruiting volunteer mentors in Stockport, Trafford and Cheshire East. If you have a kind disposition and 2-3 free hours a week to spend supporting a local young person to navigate through life, Insight would LOVE to hear from YOU. Find out more here.

Training starts next Monday 9th in Cheshire East and early October for Stockport and Trafford.
