WIN: Start The Week Group Beats The Monday Blues

Posted on the 13th September 2019

Start The Week is a support group in Stockport run by our Wellbeing and Independence Network (WIN).

It is primarily for people with enduring mental health conditions and welcomes them to meet up on Mondays to socialise over a meal. It really is a great way to start the week!

The group meets at The Space on St Petersgate. Each session begins with a brew and a chat so if you enjoy a cuppa you will fit right in.  Then it’s time for a fab bowl of hotpot, wholesome soup or other tasty fare freshly made by Sarah and Sion of the WIN team. They recently enjoyed a fish and chips treat too.

There is conversation and music plus dominoes, bingo and other games options. It is a very supportive, social atmosphere.

Start The Week is a group based on the power of friendship. The group members are really supportive and helpful to each other.

Sion and I are always on hand to give support should anyone need to talk about any issues they are facing.

Some of the group has been coming for 20 years or more and are always welcoming to new members.
