Coffee, Cake & Community: Introducing Nourish Café

Posted on the 16th October 2019

Our new café at St Cuthbert’s Church in Cheadle has officially opened its doors!

Nourish Café has had an extensive renovation opening up the space and giving it a fresh modern look. All this has transformed the café into a lively community hub, home to a range of great social groups.

Pure clients, staff, the vicar and church volunteers all work in partnership to make Nourish Café so welcoming! From the outset Reverend Mike was keen to involve Pure in the café and is delighted with the results.

The clients are always smiley and happy. Everyone likes them and they belong here. Their lemon drizzle cake they bake here is brilliant! We think things have got off to a fantastic start with Pure and we can develop it enormously. The partnership couldn't have gone any better.

Mike Newman - Vicar at St Cuthbert's Church

The café opened its doors a month ago and we have hit the ground running regarding training. Our clients have already been learning lots of new skills including baking, making teas and coffees, serving customers and much more. Here is what David said about his training at Nourish Café.

I like the customers. They're all really nice and friendly. I've learned to bake. I'm looking forward to making pies. I like making soup too, but I like cakes better.

David

Nourish Café’s menu is full of affordable snacks and treats including even more freshly baked goodies from our Stockport café and bakery The Kitchen. The range of cakes, bread and the popular teacakes are all delivered by Bertie the Bread Van.

Nourish Café is always filled with a positive welcoming atmosphere. Do come along – we would love to see you there!
