Pure Art Studio Exhibition: Moments To Celebrate

Posted on the 8th October 2019

Proud parents and carers including Ashkan’s (above) were among the many guests at the opening of Pure Art Studio’s latest exhibition Moments To Celebrate.

The exhibition is an ultimate overview of the great work created over the last 12 months by its talented artists. It showcases a wide range of painting styles, intricate drawings, bold ceramics and more.

This year the artists have been making zines: self-published booklets of original texts and pictures. For the exhibition they combined forces to create the first edition of their group zine. This is filled with artwork, artists’ inspirations, a comic strip and personal stories. It includes a feature on Sarah. She raised a truly impressive amount of money through shaving her head for the Macmillan charity campaign Brave The Shave.  Brilliant work Sarah!

This exhibition is our largest to date. It contains over 100 artworks created by members of our studios and is really diverse in the mediums used and subjects that have inspired the end result. I'd like to thank our talented artists who continue to produce exciting work and their friends and families who have joined us this evening to support this great event.

There are so many great pieces of art to see at this fantastic exhibition. Do come and visit!

While you’re there you can sit back and enjoy a screening of some of the studio’s animations. These include a video tackling climate change and a successful short film by James. This has been viewed an impressive 304k times on YouTube!

The exhibition was very nice and Melanie really enjoys Pure. She has been coming now for nearly 10 years and the staff are really good with her. She used to be very quiet and it has helped her come out of her shell. She has also done independent travel training so can travel here on her own.

Sandra Hulme - Melanie's Mum

Moments To Celebrate is being displayed at Vernon Park Art Gallery right now until 6th January 2020. All work has been created across our Stockport based studios The Grey Horse, Vernon Park and Broadstone Mill.

Do come along – we would love to see you!
