Learning Disability Awareness Week: Client Videos!

Posted on the 14th June 2021

It’s Learning Disability Awareness Week and Pure Innovations clients have been talking on camera about things they enjoy and also showcasing their creative skills.

First up is Toni,  who explains that she really enjoys attending Pure services because she loves learning. Her week at our Middleton base is packed with activities including drama, science club, tai chi and much more. We also get to see her fab short rollercoaster animation. Great stuff, Toni!

Art and Creativity

The theme of Learning Disability Awareness Week 2021 is Art and Creativity – areas in which many Pure clients excel.  Wonderful work is produced at our Art Studios, Creative Hubs and dedicated Ceramic Studio.

In this video, you can see Pure artists from our Stockport centres at work and hear about what makes them happy.

Swamp Animation!

Our last video is a vibrant, comic masterpiece made by artist James and features his cute creation, Gloria the ‘Gator.  This animation is packed with fab sound effects and giggles and is all James’ own work. We love your intro, James.

The story centres on Gloria the alligator’s attempts to discover what is beyond the swamp – with added asides by James, giving insights into creative challenges he’s faced along the way.

Watch Gloria ‘Gator here (- and make it snappy!)

We hope you have enjoyed these films made about or by Pure clients with a learning disability or autism.

This week you can also see a fabulous canvas collage, a collaboration by Pure artists, that is now on view in the window of the One Stockport Hub in Stockport Town centre.  (Find it in Mersey Square at the former Argos premises.) Not to be missed!

Why not follow us on Facebook or Twitter to keep up with other Pure Learning Disability Awareness Week activities? We’d love you to join us!
