Pure Clients Now at Clay Coffee House

Posted on the 21st July 2021

Pure clients are now receiving cafe and hospitality experience and training at the lovely NEW Clay Coffee House on Park Lane  in Poynton. Do pop along if you can.

Those Pure clients include Dom, pictured above with Cafe manager, Emily Whitewood. When we visited, he was smart as ever, shirt and tie beneath his catering apron, and keen to work.

Great Kitchen Skills

Dom was soon very busy in the kitchen making Malteser tiffin with volunteer Fiona Renwick. Pure Community Support Worker Steph was also to hand.

Measuring and combining ingredients, melting chocolate, pressing the mix into tins: Dom loved doing it all. He also watched intently as Fiona demonstrated the art of feathering chocolate on the top.

I really like being here. The kitchen is good and I learn things. I like serving in the cafe too, taking food and drinks to the customers.

Dom - Client of Pure Innovations

The cafe has beautiful, modern decor and serves a great range of  sandwiches, light lunches and truly delicious sweet treats!

Part of Poynton Baptist Church, it is powered by volunteers like Fiona and its community programme includes a foodbank and space for group meetings.

Pure clients are a real help, both in the kitchen and front of house. Dom has a really great work ethic and is always so smartly dressed and cheerful. He is such a positive influence, lifting everyone's spirits.
The Clay Coffee House is designed specifically to be community resource so it is great to see Dom picking up useful skills and experience here.

Emily Whitewood - Manager of the Clay Coffee House.

The Clay Coffee House is forging strong links with the local community. Even the crockery is special – all handmade at the nearby Poynton Pottery.

The Clay Coffee House is open Wednesday to Saturday, 8.30am to 4pm.

Do pop along and support this new cafe enterprise if you are in the area. Malteser tiffin recommended!
