Thom’s Story
Thom has always been interested in radio – and so have we. We run Pure 107.8FM – Stockport’s community station. Thom contacted us about one of our training schemes and we signed him up.

"I love presenting One Voice on the radio. It’s a dream come true really."
He never could have guessed that just months later he would be one of the lead presenters on a brand new show, broadcast fortnightly across the borough.
‘I have a condition called dyspraxia’, said Thom. ‘There are some things it stops me from doing but what it has never stopped me doing is talking!
‘When I finished the training course I was asked if I would like to help present Pure’s new show One Voice. Obviously I said yes!’
One Voice is a show made by people with additional needs in our day service. It is broadcast on alternate Mondays at 9pm and repeated the following Sunday at 6am for early birds.
‘One Voice is a mix of music and chat’, said Thom. ‘We have special features on classic comedy clips and famous sporting moments. We have a great time and listeners seem to really like our show. I am getting great experience and hope it will lead to a paid job in radio.’
