Oldham

We offer great supported activities in Oldham including Animation, our History Club, Media group and more.

two History Club clients in Oldham holding the 3D model of Great War trenches they made.

In the lovely setting of Alexandra Park, our Oldham base The Boathouse is always a hive of activity. The range of activities includes our History Club.  Clients research specific historical  periods, developing their IT skills in the process. They compile detailed, beautiful information boards and build their creative talents by constructing models and other art works.

Animation is also very popular with clients. They make their own stop motion films using models and sets that they craft themselves. There are also general craft sessions, and gardening roles out in the beautiful park  for those who love the outdoors.  Under the Microscope is  another great project, exploring the  natural world of the park just outside the door. The Boathouse Cafe, run by Pure, also provides  cafe training (note: currently subject to restrictions.) This is proven to enhance confidence and communication skills. And how about our Media club?  Here clients compile the very popular Boathouse monthly newsletter.

In the video below, you can have a quick tour of our supported activities both Rochdale and Oldham.

If you are looking for  our  Supported Woodwork group, please note this has now relocated to  The Woodshack in Chadderton. Click the link for more information on our dedicated, fully equipped workshop. It’s an ideal  safe and supported space to learn and practice woodwork skills and practical artefacts such as bird tables.
