Sean’s Story

Sean is loving his new job at The Toy Box Carvery in Oldham.

"It has boosted his self esteem. He has high hopes for the future."
- Kim, Sean's mum

When AJ’s, the adult learning centre in Oldham which Sean visits, started visiting the Toy Box every Friday, it started off a chain of events that lead to Sean being offered a job by Mark, the manager of the Toy Box.

Now, thanks to Pure Innovations, Sean now works as a maintenance assistant for 2 days a week.

His boss Mark couldn’t be happier with Sean’s progress.

I can’t emphasise how fantastic he is. He’s just an amazing young man. His qualities are fantastic.

He’s like one of our family members. He is a member of staff and is treated like a member of staff, but the staff are mindful of Sean’s disability and are aware of his qualities.

He follows instructions to the point where I can just ask him what he needs to do on Monday, and straight away he knows what he has to do.

We’re committed to Pure Innovations and if that means taking on another member of staff, we’re quite happy to do so.

Part of Pure Innovations service to its clients is that it gives the RIGHT job to the RIGHT person.

Sean’s mum couldn’t be more thrilled with the changes in Sean’s life.

It has been very important for our whole family as we always hoped Sean would lead a life as independently as possible and for him to gain employment is like a dream come true. We are all very proud of him.

It has given Sean a sense of achievement and boosted his self esteem. We are all very proud, and happy he has a purpose in life and high hopes for his future.
