Supported Internships

Pure Innovations, Supported Internships, Learning Disabilities, Manchester College, Manchester Airport

Our supported internships are employment-based courses giving students with additional needs the opportunity to develop employability skills. They are based in real work places and involve working alongside other working people.

The internships are a partnership between a host employer such as a hospital or council; a college providing on-site tuition and our own specialist employment team.

Each intern receives a support plan tailored to their needs. Their skills are matched to job roles within the employer’s organisation, for example, clerical, catering or portering. They then undertake a rotation of three ten-week work placements giving them experience in a variety of jobs.

Catering is just one of many job roles you can experience.

We provide focused job coaching, plus continuous support and monitoring to both interns and employers.

Supported Internships are presently running in Manchester, Oldham, Salford, Tameside, Trafford and new for 2016, Stockport.
