Shaun’s Story

Shaun loves his volunteer job at Jump Space, the exciting trampoline and sensory play venue in Stockport.

"It's a lot more fun than being at school!"

He first landed a placement at the centre as part of Pure Innovations’ Work Skills project.  It was such a success – and he enjoyed it so much –  he stayed on and is reaching new heights!

Shaun has achieved a Level Two training certificate in Rebound Therapy. He can now help people on the trampolines, leading them through moves like star jumps and tuck jumps under the supervision of head Coach Craig Edmondson.

‘We are a small independent charity catering primarily for children and young people with disabilities but are open to everyone’, said Craig. ‘Shaun makes a really valuable contribution to the centre. He can be proud of his achievements.’

Shaun had already shown a taste for the intrepid in achieving his Pure-supported Duke of Edinburgh Award. He also volunteers at our Visitor Centre in Etherow Park giving great variety to his week.

‘Jump Space is a great place’, said Shaun. ” I love seeing people’s confidence grow on the trampoline.  I also help keep the centre clean and  now I am doing First Aid training too.”

Go Shaun!
