Stephen Dootson

Stephen has 35 years experience of senior board level appointments including Group Financial Director and Managing Director in property development, healthcare and manufacturing.

After training as a Chartered Accountant, Stephen joined the financial team leading on the takeover of the Manchester Ship Canal Company and the development of the Trafford Centre.

Stephen subsequently joined the board of a PLC subsidiary with ambitions to grow its healthcare interests and grew the business four-fold, specifically as Divisional Managing Director by creating a ‘home delivery’ business for medical supplies across the UK, acquiring five subsidiaries during his tenure.

When the PLC was acquired by a European distributor Stephen joined, as a Group Financial Director, a company manufacturing
decontamination equipment across the world and through sales growth, acquisition and setting up overseas offices created five-fold growth in the Group.

This company was sold to an American venture capital company and Stephen elected to move to positions of Non-Executive Director with a number of SMEs in the North West, one of which was KAST Renewable Energies Ltd, a renewable energy company specialising in PV solar installations. In 2018, Stephen joined KAST full time as Commercial Director to position the business as a market leader in all renewable energy technologies, offering design and build, feasibility and delivery of off-grid, energy-saving, low-carbon projects.

Stephen has recently become involved as Procurement and Finance Director for a new start company delivering off-grid modular accommodation for displaced, homeless and rough sleeping people who require emergency, safe and secure rooms in the North West, a profit-for-purpose company incorporating a homeless foundation.
