Our Supported Internships are employment-based courses giving students with additional needs the opportunity to develop employability skills. They are based in real work places and involve working alongside other working people.

The Internship prepares you for employment, builds your confidence and abilities, and helps you gain independence. For example, you can receive Travel Training before the course starts, so that you can learn to travel to and from work on your own, if you were unable to do so already.

Smiles all round as Oliver gets a paid job.

Having spent a lot of time in the care of doctors and nurses, I couldn’t think of a more rewarding place to work. My confidence has grown immensely and I’m very positive about my future.

The Internships are a partnership between a host employer for instance a hospital or council; a college providing on-site tuition and our own specialist employment team at Pure.

Each Intern receives a support plan tailored to their needs. Their skills are matched to job roles within the employer’s organisation, such as clerical, catering or portering. It follows the academic year with a maximum of three different work placements.

Catering is just one of many job roles you can experience.

We provide focused job coaching, plus continuous support and monitoring to both interns and employers.

Supported Internships are presently running in Manchester, Salford, Trafford and Stockport and a new Internship to 2018, Bury.
