Liz, Our Progression Officer provides one to one support for students who may be struggling to access the curriculum fully, delivering practical strategies for students whilst carefully monitoring progress during their time at Pure College.

We’re proud to work in partnership with a wide range of agencies and mental health support services, alongside direct access to Talking Therapy through Pure Innovations, giving students the best possible support to achieve their ambitions.

​Develop outside of the Classroom

Enrichment is all about ensuring that students balance all of their hard work and learning with opportunities to relax and focus, like participating in activities such as cooking, sports, games and art, alongside access to the local gym or pool, which has been heavily subsidised for Pure College students. Enrichment activities are designed to give students an opportunity to develop Knowledge, Skills and Behaviour outside the classroom:

Knowledge

Understanding own strengths, challenges, and Well-being preferences. Develop an understanding of the importance of being physically and mentally well.

Understand how to problem skills through games and cooking. Memory enhancement through sports and games.

Understanding the importance of meal planning, nutrition, and food safety.

Introduction to various hobbies and recreational activities.

Develop an understanding of how to manage stress through physical activities. Know how to manage wellbeing by ensuring a healthy work life balance.

Skills

Working effectively with others, fostering positive social interactions and collaboration.

Developing skills to resolve conflicts peacefully and constructively. Emotional expression and regulation through games and activities.

Learning to communicate own needs and seek support when necessary. Resilience developed by learning from setbacks.

– Critical thinking and problem-solving skills through games and cooking. Improved memory and cognitive flexibility through sports and games.

Fine and gross motor skills developed through sports and swimming. Improved balance and spatial awareness.

Behaviour

Increased self-esteem and confidence through recognising achievement.

Promotion of independence through cooking and swimming skills. Acquisition of essential life skills.
