We’re inviting businesses and organisations from across Stockport, Manchester and the wider North West to help bring this year’s Access Festival to life…
Now in its sixth year, Access Festival has grown from a small gathering of around 30 people into a vibrant annual event welcoming more than 300 attendees. Created specifically for adults with learning disabilities and autism, the festival provides a safe, welcoming and fully accessible space where people can enjoy live music, socialise and celebrate in a way that works for them.
For many of the people we support, Access Festival is much more than just a night out. It’s something they look forward to for months, a chance to connect with others, feel part of something and enjoy experiences that many people take for granted.
This year’s festival will once again transform Stockport Guildhall with live music, a DJ, karaoke, dancing, food and entertainment, all carefully shaped around the needs of those attending.
We’re now looking for local businesses and community partners to get involved through sponsorship, volunteering, raffle prizes, food and refreshments, entertainment support or on-the-day contributions. Every bit of support helps us continue creating an event that puts inclusion, community and belonging at the centre.
Access Festival was founded by our colleague Emily, who wanted to create a space where everyone feels comfortable, included and able to enjoy themselves.
Emily said:
“After going to a festival a few years ago, I realised that it wasn’t just the music that stayed with me, it was everything around it. The excitement beforehand, choosing what to wear, planning the day, and then sharing photos and memories afterwards. It made me realise that many of the people we support at Pure had never had that experience.
“Access Festival is a space where everyone feels comfortable, included and able to enjoy themselves. For most people, going out to a gig or a festival is no big deal, but for many of our clients, this is the highlight of their year, a chance to connect and simply enjoy live music.”
