Co-operative Local Community Fund and its members have has raised a staggering £2,455 for Dunwood Park Café. Thank you so much!

Where The Money Will Go

This generous sum of money will be going towards a range of facilities for the café that will improve both our customer and clients’ experience.

These include:

  • Heaters for the café terrace
  • A freezer to improve our ice-cream offer
  • Outdoor games
  • Crafts
  • Activities

How the Money Will Help

The outside heaters we purchase will allow our customers to enjoy the park throughout all weathers and seasons. Clients from our Horticulture project work year round to maintain the beautiful park and they will now be able to share that great work with more people. These clients include Jamie and Gerard, who recently earned a qualification for their fab gardening skills. Click here to read their story.

With the amazing funds raised by the Coop, we will also be hosting free crafts at weekends post-covid. This will provide a great sense of community, with fun activities for kids bringing local families together.

Pure cafés are more than just cafes. Profits from Pure cafés help fund our services for people with a disability. This donation means we can put more towards our clients learning new skills to live a more fulfilled life. Current projects include:

  • Art & animation
  • Sports
  • Horticulture
  • Café Training
  • Woodworking

And many more.

What is the Co-op Local Community Fund?

The Co-op Local Community Fund supports projects across the UK that its members choose via the website. Every time a member buys a Co-op branded product or service 1% of their spend goes toward their chosen charity. The Co-op also gives all money raised through shopping bag sales to the causes to help even more.

You can join the virtual celebrations with a fun balloon popping game here: payoutcelebration.co.uk

We would like to thank the Co-op and its members for the kind donation to our charity. Our plan is to use the money to provide activities for our local community such as free crafts for children, outdoor games and sports and also to improve our current café offer, providing as much homemade, delicious and affordable food as we can for our local community. It will also contribute to Pure Innovations wider goal of providing a fulfilled lifestyle for the clients that we support.

Thank You

It is so important to us that our cafés are a positive force within the community, as well as supporting our clients to learn new skills. These funds will help us improve on both of these factors and so we would like to say a big thank you to the Co-op and its members!
